A critical success factor lies within how well people understand and balance the change process.
The concept of “change management” is a familiar one in most businesses today. But, how you as a leader manage change (and how successful you are at it) varies enormously depending on the nature of the business, the change and the people involved. And a key part of this depends on how well you and your people understand the change process and how to control how you will react to and approach the change (all the emotions are normal!).
Get together with your team and…
- Share a personal story of when you’ve had too visionary of a leader (tend to be great futurist, but may not have structure or direction needed to succeed), or the flip side when you’ve had or worked with a leader that only focuses on management.
- Ask them what they need from you to support them through change.
